How the drainage planning estimator works
The estimator offers a rough planning range. It is not a diagnosis, contractor quote, engineering opinion, market survey, or guarantee of pricing.
Inputs used
The model starts with the selected likely project type and adjusts the range for affected area, reported severity, and access. The project labels correspond to broad approaches such as downspout work, catch basins, French drains, grading, or combined work.
What the calculator cannot see
A form cannot determine the water source, elevation, safe outlet, soil, utilities, easements, municipal requirements, excavation depth, restoration, neighbor impacts, or whether the selected approach is appropriate. Those conditions can materially change the scope and price.
How to use the result
Use the result to frame questions and compare the diagnosis and written scope behind proposals. A lower price is not necessarily better if it moves water without establishing a lawful, durable discharge point.
Review process
Nfinier, LLC reviews the model when project assumptions, observed proposals, provider feedback, or regional conditions indicate a material change. The estimator does not claim that every provider uses the same method or price. Report a questionable result to info@stldrainageguide.com.
Ask the provider to explain the source, collection method, route, outlet, approvals, restoration, and maintenance.
